sitting at home in my jim-jams

I love rain. I really do. It's been raining here in Los Angeles since last Thursday.
I'm sure you've heard about the flooding and the mudslides.
I was supposed to go hear Charlie Rose speak this evening at the Music Center.
I gave myself plenty of time to get there. If there's one thing I am, it's overabundance. And it's not raining as I leave home. As I get closer to Downtown, it starts POURING. And traffic comes to a dead stop.
Half way to Downtown, and I'm stuck in traffic. No problem, I've still got an HOUR to get 15 miles.
5 minutes. No movement.
10 minutes. No movement.
15 minutes. No movement.
20 minutes. Cops come by and close the freeway. Seriously. No traffic either way. We had to get off. So I think, no problem, I'll surface street it. Yeh, good luck with that. The surface streets are clogged and flooded as well.
I had to turn around and come home.
So I'm sitting at home in my jim-jams.

The rain better clear up before the Big Dog comes to town next Wednesday night.

Wow, to think I know someone who suffered directly from the Great 101 Shutdown of '05!

Here's some wallpaper for one of the staff computers to cheer you up:
