Republicans: We only care about rich people

Panel Approves $10B Cut in Health Care

The first sentence says it all: "A Republican-led effort to slow spending on health care programs for the poor, elderly and disabled survived a stern test in the Senate Tuesday."

There's nothing anyone can say to justify making cuts in programs that are absolutely necessary to the poor and needy. I don't care what arguments they come up with. All this shows is that Republicans only care for rich people.

It must be part of some grand scheme to get those people to go be unproductive long-term Wal-Mart employees.

I mean come on, people CHOOSE to be OLD. It doesn't just happen. You have to WANT to become old & mooch off the government. ;)

Next there'll have to be a Logan's Run-esque proposal... (though it'll probably be veiled & confused in some kind of religious belief as the culture depicted in an episode of Stargate Atlantis).
And maybe the suicide chambers for the old working poor featured in Soylent Green will be rolled out.

It's like the politicians these days (not even just conservatives either) are looking for that with the direction they're going in.
It's like they want to cut off everything sensible at every front.
Allow credit card companies to exploit people into crazy debt, then not allow them to file bankruptcy, and then once they're old & poor, don't allow them medical treatment?

Oh yeah, and stop this stuff from being widely & commonly publicized, or heaven forbid, taught in schools, so that people have the chance to prevent themselves from falling into it.

It's unfair the republicans only care for the rich and are approving a $10 billion cut in health care. Especially as we are in a major health care crisis with millions lacking health insurance.
