new realities for some people

This afternoon I listened to some idiot call in on the Randi Rhodes Show claiming to be a Captain in the U.S. Army. He spewed right wing talking points all over the place and insited that Randi didn't know anything about the realities of the Iraq War. This guy kept saying that things in Iraq are great and getting better.
Go take a look at Baghdad Burning and see if you think Riverbend agrees with that idiot's point of view.

I believe the civil war has started as many individuals had predicted it would, but Bush and company ignored the facts again.

Absolutely. I've been reading Baghdad Burning for a long time, but it's only really recently that an utter sense of despair seems to be coming through in her writing.
I woke up to the news that 2 dozen people had been killed in sectarian violence today. There's no doubt in my mind that it is civil war over there.
And Bush should be arrested and tried as a war criminal.

Looks like Civil War has all but started, they're just not saying so yet.
A few months ago I commented on someone's blog that Iraq will soon go through Civil War and the best case scenerio will be that violence will cool down after the country is split up like Yugoslavia. But even then there'll be border skirmishes for decades.

Interestingly enough if you've read her blog you'll know that she expected civil war, but expected it after the U.S. troops left not before.
