who on earth is part of that 34%?

Poll: Bush Ratings At All-Time Low

It's not just his own low. It's the all time low of any presidential poll. Ever. He's the lowest polling president in the history of presidents. Clinton, in the midst of his impeachment trial was polling in the mid-60s.

Who is part of that 34%?
I work with someone whom I believe is typical.
She goes to church every Sunday, and although she is - at least on the surface - very friendly, she's naive and a very poor judge of character, she's on lots of medication, very wealthy and loves to see lots of tax breaks come her way (no matter that it mortgages her future, which is OK...she'll blame it on a future Democratic prez), and lives to be at odds with her Democratic husband.
She thinks what's-his-face is the best president we've had in a long time and supports everything he proposes.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there's lots of MEN that are like this, too.
And they live to be at odds with their Democratic wife.
It's just that I don't know any men like this because all the people I'm around every day are women. And I know several that are similar to this one.
They live in a dream world.

I knew what you meant. Actually, my favorite volunteer, who's at least 75, is a fervent Repub. I can't imagine what compells him to support the idiot in chief, but he's just such a strong supporter.
But, yeah, we get lots of the delusional dames as well.

Only Nixon's ratings were lower (28% at one point in his term, I think).
I think Bush's would be below Nixon's if it weren't for the fact that people have become desensitized to what politicians do. 30-35 years ago, the popularity of JFK and RFK was still fresh in people's minds. With that in mind, Nixon's Watergate antics made headlines and that really skewered any popularity he had.

But Bush's lies are exposed every single day. And it just gets shrugged off. It really does seem as if people just don't care. It's like they think it doesn't really affect them.
